I downloaded some free apps as well and I used the Dragon Dictation immediately when I got back to class on Tuesday afternoon.  I will have to play around with it some more because it was typing odd words due to their speech.  I am excited about using the IPad in the classroom because my students are actively engaged when they are using the SmartBoard or interactive games for instructional purposes.
